RE: CGEU ASKS for STRIKE
SUPPORT FUNDS for NYU LOCAL GSOC/UAW 2110
From the CGEU listserv:
As you all know, the
members of GSOC/UAW Local 2110 at NYU have been on strike
since November 9. NYU president John Sexton has told
strikers that they will lose their teaching positions and
pay for the spring semester, so GSOCers are now facing the
possibility of severe financial hardship as our strike
continues.
Many individuals and locals have already
contributed to our hardship fund, and the members of GSOC
are deeply grateful for those contributions. We would
also like to ask for any additional donations that
individuals and locals can make, so that our hardship fund
can help strikers cover their basic expenses.
There
are two ways that you can contribute. Both the CGEU
website (www.cgeu.org) and the GSOC website ( www.2110uaw.org/gsoc )
now feature a link to an online donation site. Checks
can also be made out to "UAW Local 2110" with "GSOC strike
fund" in the memo line, and mailed to:
GSOC/Local
2110 113 University Place, 5th Floor New York, NY
10003
Please forward this appeal to any lists you think
appropriate, including members, faculty, and unions in your
area.
