FARM CYCLES: Seed Saving and Composting

Objectives:
- To differentiate between organic and conventional gardening/farming
- To identify cycles in the natural world
- To collect seeds from mature plants
- Harvest EVERYTHING from your bed that will not be over-wintered!
- To identify plants that will not be over-wintered to remove from bed and compost

Student learning outcomes:
The students will
- Observe bed/journal (what seeds can you collect? what plants can you harvest/remove?)
- Collect/clean seeds from three plants on the farm and label seed packets
- Harvest everything that will not be overwintered
- Begin to remove plants that are not being over-wintered
- Choose a name for their farm friend group
- Plant garlic
